Our exclusive focus on clean energy markets gives us an unparalleled advantage in locating the most highly specialized talent in any sector, including:
Solar
As the market for solar power matures, there has been a marked increase in demand at all levels, from residential rooftop installations to utility-scale arrays. Falling prices and strong incentives create immense opportunities - as well as challenges - for the solar industry. Understanding the shifting market and advancing technologies is key to placing the right people with the right companies.
Cumulative solar capacity in the United States now exceeds 130 GWac, and solar leads the way each year as the technology with the most newly installed electricity-generating infrastructure.
Commercial and community solar continue to grow steadily as more states look to build out their solar capacity and look to electrification as the best pathway towards reducing carbon emissions.
The Inflation Reduction Act signed in 2022 became the single largest investment in climate and energy in American history and extends the investment tax credit (ITC) at the full 30% rate through at least 2033.
Wind
Wind power has long had a strong foothold in many parts of the country. According to American Clean Power: "Wind power capacity totals nearly 140 GW, making it the fourth-largest source of electricity generation capacity in the country. This is enough wind power to serve the equivalent of 43 million American homes. In 2021, the U.S. wind industry supported more than 120,000 jobs across all 50 states."
Now, the Inflation Reduction Act signed in 2022 extends and modifies the federal tax credits available for wind energy projects. Meanwhile, there are over 11,000 MW of offshore wind projects slated for completion by 2026 and offshore wind stands to create over 80,000 new jobs in the U.S. by the end of the decade. Taken together, the prospects for land-based and offshore wind are as strong as they have ever been and wind power will be a major component of the continued clean energy revolution.
Energy Storage
The United States installed approximately 11.1 GWh of energy storage onto the electric grid in Q1–Q3 2022, an 88% jump over 2021 as a result of high levels of residential deployment and grid-scale deployment. In addition, standalone storage projects will now qualify for the new Clean Electricity Investment Credit, making these projects more feasible in a faster timeframe. The existing ITC was also extended to cover standalone energy storage facilities.
Generally seen as the crucial component for achieving 100% renewable energy, storage will continue to be a sector of strong growth as more solar and wind power are deployed on the grid. Breakthroughs in materials, technologies and supply chains will continue to broaden the possibilities of what energy storage can be and do. As a result we expect to see the continuation of very strong hiring demand from companies in thie sector.
Electric Vehicle
Electric Vehicle Sales have tripled in just 2 years and the Inflation Reduction Act expanded tax credits for EV purchases and charging infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Infrastructure Law invests $7.5 billion in EV charging, $10 billion in clean transportation, and over $7 billion in EV battery components, critical minerals, and materials.
Emerging Technologies
The clean energy revolution will go beyond electricity generation and storage. It will take new materials, technologies and processes to be successful. Industries like smart meters, carbon capture and accounting, and hydrogen are still in their early stages. New innovations will soon join them to improve efficency and reduce waste in transportation, construction, and energy generation.
Whatever industries and technologies arise, EnergeiaWorks will strive to remain at the forefront, educating and immersing ourselves in the fields.
