Voting for a Sustainable Future

Even in 2020, it is difficult to talk about clean energy and not talk about politics. Last night was the first US Presidential debate which reminds me of one of the reasons I started EnergeiaWorks. (Disclaimer: I'm a registered Independent, former military conservative, and have voted for both major parties over the last 28 years.) In 2007, then-Senator Barack Obama, boasted the need for clean energy power generation during the 2007 debates leading up to the 2008 election. His passion for renewable energy is part of the reason EnergeiaWorks exists, and his legislation is partly the reason why renewable energy is a major economic industry in 2020. We need to support a candidate that can help foster this mission - our industry mission. VOTE!

Do you remember the economy in 2007? I sure do! I endured the second financial crisis of my recruiting career and the one bright spot in our economy was clean energy. Fortunately the industry has evolved and we have more catalysts behind its growth but none of this would have been possible without eight years of President Obama. One major indicator behind the demand for clean energy is human capital. For the past two years, there's been a shortage of talent in renewable energy - not even a global pandemic and financial recession can slow down recruitment in our industry. EnergeiaWorks finished Q3 very strong and we're on our way to breaking a company record for revenue in 2020. Even so, I'm looking forward to turning the calendar to 2021.

I will continue to monitor the employment market in clean energy and report more industry data next month. If you'd like to have a discussion about the effects of the pandemic on your hiring strategy, please reply to this email to set up a meeting with me.
