Celebrating 10 Years of EnergeiaWorks

Welcome to the first issue of Recruiter's Outlook and the EnergeiaWorks newsletter for 2021. This month officially means our doors have been open and operating for 10 years! Thank you for reading along, and for supporting EnergeiaWorks over these first 10 years. I'm so excited to see what lies ahead for the next! I wake up every day feeling blessed and driven to work in this progressive field, among so many respected and talented forward thinkers. Thank you to our customers and job-seekers for supporting EnergeiaWorks. And of course, thank you to my team at EnergeiaWorks! #teamEW wouldn’t be #teamEW without all of you!

What's a birthday celebration without gifts?!

To celebrate (and thank you!), we're giving away 10 EnergeiaWorks solar backpacks over the next 10 months. Keep an eye on our upcoming emails and social media channels for your chance to win each month.

Congratulations, Larry!

EnergeiaWorks is proud to announce January's winner! We used a random comment generator (yes, there is such a thing!) to pick the winner from all the submitted YouTube comments. And the winner of the first Birksun Solar Backpack is... Larry Gottesman! Congratulations, Larry! Thank you all for participating in January's giveaway - our February giveaway starts TODAY on our LinkedIn page. LIKE the February giveaway on LinkedIn and automatically be entered in the drawing! Winner will be announced in our February newsletter.

How much value is there in face-to-face meetings?

I've been thinking a lot about this lately. For the last 20 years, I've been working the trade show floors to generate new business and solidify customer relationships. Shortly after I opened EnergeiaWorks ten years ago, I earned my first placement fee. I quickly booked my ticket for Dallas to attend my first Solar Power International. I knew that if I were to scale my business, I needed to be out in front of potential customers.

Next week marks one year since I've been to a conference (Intersolar) and 11 months since we've hosted a Renewables UnWind networking event. It goes without saying that I put a lot of value of in-person meetings. Though I am looking ahead to get back to meetings, I, like everybody else, adapted to the new normal of video calls. We've procured a new video platform for our customers to have secure video interviews and I can literally count the in-person interviews we've had on one hand over the last 11 months. But rest assured, we will get back to conference and trade shows at some point. And will get back to in-person interviews soon enough.

How much hiring was pushed into 2021?

A lot! Why do I say this? 3 reasons to be exact.

  1. It's been eight weeks since the election was called on President Biden's behalf. Since then, we've seen a 25% increase in new business proposals. Hiring and recruiting is a direct correlation to the health of an industry. You can bet when EnergeiaWorks is busy, the industry as a whole is busy.
  2. In 2020 lots of organizations in clean energy ran lean on their staff because of the uncertainty of an election year and unpredictability of the pandemic. With a new Government and promise of the vaccine rollout, the floodgates have opened. Release the hiring!
  3. Extension of the ITC and PTC. Icing on the cake as they say! The legislation locks in tax credits on renewable energy projects for two more years - further adding certainty to a lot of business.

Of course, I will continue to monitor the employment market in clean energy and report more industry data each month. If you are currently exploring a new job in your renewable energy career, we invite you to have a look at our careers portal. If you’re looking to hire top talent in manufacturing, project development, finance, construction, operations, or energy asset management professionals, reach out to us today.
