Back from Boston

I just returned from RE+ Northeast in Boston and without disappointment. This is arguably the best regional conference on the trade show circuit, and also my favorite for many reasons: it's close to our Jersey City homebase, which makes for easy travel, it's memorable, and was my first solar conference back in 2011 when it was still called PV America, and mainly because it attracts the best developers, EPCs, integrators, vendors, and distributors in the country. At this event, EnergeiaWorks gets an opportunity to meet our northeast customers in-person and also walk away with new relationships. And RE+ Northeast boasts one of the best networking receptions at the Harpoon Brewery, which EnergeiaWorks has enthusiastically sponsored for the past 7 years!

2023 is Already Looking Better for Talent Acquisition

I'm already seeing some positive signs in the cleantech employment market that makes me optimistic for the rest of 2023. As the calendar turned 2023, we started seeing an increase in resumes flowing through the inboxes at EnergeiaWorks. Some of this is predictable for the new year (self evaluations, resolutions, bonuses paid, lack of bonuses paid) , but we didn't really see this in January of 2022. This led to an unbalanced job market for the rest of 2022 - too many hiring organizations and not enough active job-seekers. In two months of 2023, we've already received more resumes from active job-seekers than all of 2022. This is exactly what our industry needs right now because when there's a talent shortage, projects are delayed.

Another factor I'm noting is based upon resume submission, a metric that we track internally at EnergeiaWorks. We submitted more resumes to our active customer base in January and February of 2023 than we did in any single month of 2022. It seems more industry professionals are now passively open to a job search than they were last year.

Lastly, we're seeing an uptick in active candidates reaching out to us to meet up at the conferences. Thus far in 2023, we've been to Intersolar in Long Beach and RE+ Northeast in Boston, and we had more scheduled meetings with active job seekers compared to those events in 2022. Let's see if that trend continues in 2023.  This spring, meet us at RE+ Texas, Renewables UnWind Jersey City, Midwest Solar Expo, RE+ Southeast, and CLEANPOWER.  Start your job search with EnergeiaWorks!
