Report from WSGS and Job Changes from IRA

Report From the Wall Street Green Summit
Given our reach in sustainability across the New York metropolitan area, EnergeiaWorks was invited to the Wall Street Green Summit (WSGS) in early March as a media partner.
Now in its 22nd year, the Wall Street Green Summit is the longest running sustainable finance conference in the world.
Founder Peter Fusaro is a former judge at the Cleantech Open and professor at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. Over the years, I've been honored to speak at Peter's event, and he's supported me as I launched Renewables UnWind into a monthly networking event series in New York City back in 2016.
During my visit to the Cornell Club for the Summit, I had the opportunity to learn more about methane capture, decarbonization, and carbon sequestration in agriculture. If you, also, are interested in understanding the 45Q tax credit program for carbon reduction outlined in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), read more here from the Carbon Capture Coalition. It was great to expand my knowledge about the growing field of carbon tech.
EnergeiaWorks has developed new relationships in this space, such as with CarbonQuest, whose advances in decarbonization were also highlighted at the Summit. If you haven't yet been to the Wall Street Green Summit, put it on your calendar for spring 2024!

2023 Changes in Talent Acquisition
Speaking of the Inflation Reduction Act, we are starting to see a shift in renewable energy hiring in the United States given the incentives outlined in the legislation. While there's no sign of the job market slowdown, there has been an increase in hiring across domestic manufactures. It seems that a new battery or module OEM issues a press release every month about new production line plans.
This surge of growth in the last six months since the IRA has been signed shows that an incentive spurs more growth than a penalty! In this short time span, domestic manufacturing has surpassed the production during the four years under the Trump Administration in which import tariffs would punish international manufacturing.
Our industry saw this in solar when the first Investment Tax Credit was signed and we saw this in wind when the first Production Tax Credit was signed; so get ready for the next wave with domestic manufacturing.
