Wetland Ecology Project Manager

The Senior Botanist and/or Wetlands ecologist will spend time both in the field and in the office with the firm’s team of professionals. Field work may include plant community mapping, rare plant surveys, and wetland assessments and delineations, and oversight of fieldwork crews. The plant ecology and wetlands group contribute to and write biological resource reports and natural resource management plans. Project managers in the group also engage resource agencies and clients to seek regulatory permits for impacts to sensitive and protected habitats. Project managers in the group, with guidance from senior management, lead projects with a focus on wetland, riparian, or plant issues, often in collaboration with our other groups.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise to large scale conservation projects in Northern California.
  • Perform rare plant work across multiple habitats in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Assist with restoration projects throughout the San Francisco Bay area and surrounding regions.
  • Contribute towards habitat planning
  • Minimize impact of redevelopment projects and support creation of new habitats
  • Develop guidelines for native habitats
  • Support renewable energy projects
Desired qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree combined with relevant experience, advanced degree preferred
  • Exceptional flora identification skills
  • Completion of 40-hour wetland delineation course, or equivalent experience
  • Project management experience
  • Prior consulting experience with NEPA/CEQA analysis and permitting
  • Exceptional technical writing skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Valid Driver's License
