Solar Construction Engineer

As the Solar Construction Engineer, you will be responsible for all operations of the key projects within the engineering team. This includes being a part of meetings to discuss current projects from budget, schedule or technical project perspectives. You will make decisions about overall approach and conclusions to satisfy clients expectations and mitigate risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on conceptual design of solar projects, due diligence analysis, QA/QC evaluations, and testing procedures.
  • Conduct reviews and utilize data from project portfolios including residential, commercial and utility scale projects to provide insight and resolutions for potential flaws in production or process.
  • Forecast long term solar resources using predictive methods and assessments provided by third party consultants, site visits, inspections, feasibility studies and technical report writing.
  • Responsible for day to day project execution including scope, deadline and reporting.
  • Support technical reviews of all deliverables and reports providing insight and suggestions into overall value add for clients.
  • Support any additional product lines within the company.
  • Pricing and approving scope of work.

Requirements:

  • 8+ Years experience in the solar industry.
  • Masters in engineering, electrical preferred.
  • P.Eng valued.
  • Working knowledge of PV project development, energy models, PV components or related areas.
  • Willingness to work outdoors, sometimes in harsh conditions.
  • Willingness to wear PPE at all necessary times.
  • Travel 30-50% per year.
